Manager - Research & Engagement Department (RED)

Job Objective

The Manager/Assistant Manager supports RED’s mission to deepen understanding of local Muslim women (MW) through research, engagement and advocacy. The role manages research projects, drives evidence-based advocacy, develops strategic partnerships, and oversees programmes and operations at the RED Space. This position ensures that insights gathered are translated into actionable recommendations that strengthen PPIS’ community impact.

Responsibilities

 

A. Research & Advocacy

1. Provide full secretariat support to the RED Advisory Committee (REDAC), including meeting coordination, documentation and follow-up actions.

2. Lead, manage and execute research projects on MW and women-related issues, ensuring timely delivery and methodological rigour.

3. Curate, present, and disseminate research findings to professional, community, and public audiences.

4. Develop and implement evidence-based advocacy strategies to influence policies, mindsets and initiatives that benefit MW.

5. Produce written advocacy materials including commentaries, op-eds, research summaries, and thought-leadership pieces.

 

B. Community Engagement & Stakeholder Management

6. Develop and execute proactive ground-sensing approaches to gather community insights and strengthen MW representation.

7. Build, maintain and expand partnerships with key stakeholders (community partners, agencies, professionals) to drive joint initiatives.

8. Conceptualise, plan and implement engagement programmes and community activities, including those within RED Space.

9. Evaluate programme effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative methods and recommend improvements for greater impact.

 

C. Departmental Support & Administration

10. Support departmental planning, reporting, and budgeting processes.

11. Ensure the effective administration and utilisation of RED Space to promote community participation and initiatives.

12. Uphold organisational policies, data governance standards, and protocols related to research, engagement, and advocacy.

Requirements 

A. Qualifications

  • · Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Communications, or any relevant field.
  • · Postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

 

B. Experience

  • · Minimum 5–7 years of relevant working experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory, project lead, or equivalent leadership role.
  • · Experience in social services, non-profit, research, advocacy, policy development, or community engagement is preferred

Intern (6 months) - Research & Engagement Department (RED)

Job Objective

The RED Intern supports RED’s mission to deepen understanding of local Muslim women through evidence-based insights and to amplify their voices across communities. The role contributes to ongoing research and engagement efforts by providing administrative and operational support for ad-hoc projects, stakeholder engagements, and the day-to-day operations of RED Space.

Responsibilities

 

1. Research Support

  • · Assist in conducting desk research, literature reviews, and data compilation for ongoing and upcoming research projects.
  • · Support the development of research tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides) and help coordinate fieldwork where needed.
  • · Compile, organise, and maintain research data and documentation for internal reference and reporting.
  • · Assist in preparing research summaries, reports, and presentation materials.

 

2. Engagement & Stakeholder Support

  • · Support planning and coordination of engagement activities, dialogues, workshops, and focus group discussions.
  • · Assist in liaising with community partners, stakeholders, and participants.
  • · Help prepare event materials, logistics, registration lists, and follow-up documentation.

 

3. RED Space Operations

  • · Assist in the day-to-day running of RED Space, including booking, programme facilitation, and upkeep of resources.
  • · Support documentation of activities, including maintaining records, attendance, and resource inventories.
  • · Ensure smooth coordination and logistics for programmes run at RED Space.

 

4. Administrative & General Support

  • · Provide administrative support such as scheduling, minute-taking, preparing documents, and filing.
  • · Support communications tasks (e.g., drafting simple content, assisting with information materials) as required.
  • · Assist with any other ad-hoc duties related to RED’s research and engagement initiatives.

Requirements 

  • Pursuing a diploma or degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Public Policy, Communications, or related fields.
  • Strong interest in women’s issues, community development, and research.
  • Good organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with basic data organisation.
  • Willingness to support events that may take place occasionally after office hours or on weekends.

Social Services

Social Worker (Family Service Centre West)

Job Objective

To provide casework and counselling, Information and Referral services to individuals and families; to provide Community Work or Group work intervention within the boundaries of the FSC; Special Projects. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide timely response and relevant intervention to clients

 

  • Tap on external schemes, services, programmes that can improve the well-being of clients

 

  •  Plan, organise, execute and evaluate community work interventions

 

  • Other duties assigned by the Centre Manager

Requirements 

  • Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Work, preferably an accredited Social Worker

 

  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience in Social Work setting

Social Worker (Family Service Centre East)

Job Objective
